Who can attend?

The Program is open to students as well have already earned bachelor's degree, master's degree. All disciplines are welcome and encouraged to participate. Basic knowledge in the field of general chemistry, soil science, general biology, general physics, ecology, and understanding English are required.

The purpose of studying the Program

The purpose of the program is to form students' modern ideas about the theoretical and practical foundations of remediation of disturbed and contaminated soils and sediments, a systematic view to the choice of reasonable approaches of remediation, design a cost-effective remediation plan to restore the degraded/contaminated soils and sediments, and their application in practice.

Learning Outcomes 

  1. Knowledge of national and international policy measures for the remediation of disturbed and contaminated soils and sediments;
  2. Application of interdisciplinary knowledge in the development and evaluation of remediation strategies.
  3. Plan, develop and implement soil and sediment remediation measures.
  4. The ability to comprehensively analyze the survey data of disturbed and contaminated soils and sediments.
  5. The ability to scientifically substantiate the choice of the “eco-friendly” and cost-effective direction and approaches of remediation, focusing onto the best available technologies.
  6. Comprehension of theoretical and practical skills to solve specific project tasks.
  7. Evaluation the effectiveness of soil and sediment remediation plans.

Classes under the program are held in the form of online lectures and independent work. Upon successful completion of training, students are issued a certificate
